Dr Stephen Wright is Senior Scientific Advisor at COMPASS
With over 30 years in pharmaceutical medicine in the UK, France and US, Stephen has played a key role in the development of new therapies for patients, working at Glaxo, at Abbott Laboratories in the US, Beaufour Ipsen, and most recently at GW Pharma, where he was Chief Medical Officer and a main Board Director from 2004 to 2018.
Stephen is the author or co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed research papers, eight review papers, nine case reports, eight book chapters, numerous abstracts and scientific letters, and has presented at and chaired many international meetings. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and a Visiting Professor at The University of Reading.
Stephen received his Masters degree in Social and Political Science from the University of Cambridge and his medical degree from the University of London. With over 12 years’ experience in clinical medicine, Stephen is a former Consultant Senior Lecturer at The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine.
